I am an 18 year old female and im looking to purchase a car – preferably a new car but we’ll see how far that goes…
I would like opinions on which car insurance is the best for new drivers. I did a couple of quotes and Geico seems to be good, any other suggestions?

I would get at least 4 quotes to compare. Get out the phone book and call a few agents in your area.

I agree, definitely get several quotes in your area. I would suggest you include Progressive if they service your area.

I would recomend going through whoever your parents have insurance with. When I was 19, I got my own insurance, and State Farm gave me a discount because I got some of my parents benefits, since I still “lived at home”, but I was actually away at college. Still get quotes from other insurance companies also. I would just recomend making sure to stay with the bigger companies like Geico, State Farm, Allstate, Travler’s, etc. I’ve heard alot of bad things from those little mom and pop places. Good luck with your car purchase! Just make sure you get something you really love because that is a big purchase!

Progressive is usually the cheapest for new drivers. there are several ways to buy a Progressive policy. On the phone, through an agent, or online… believe it or not, I found that buying through an agent was the cheapest for me.

I agree with Brittany. Talk to the agent who carries your parent’s insurance.

I agree that calling an agent is going to offer you the best rates. You can also inquire about any discounts you may be eligible for since you are a young driver. They might also be able to give you the price ranges for the type of cars you are looking into. And also remember you can usually get more discounts if you have more policies like home or renters insurance

http://autoinsurance.hotusa.org – you can try this company. I personally have their car insurance. They provide online quote calculator, so you can easily check quotes.
As I know they have more affordable insurance policies for teens and first time drivers.
