Because that is what will happen when Mexican truckers start driving where every they want in the USA. How can people think that this will not affect them?

Another suburban flipped in Utah yesterday, either killing 5 and throwing 6 free or killing 6 and throwing 5 free, the driver, apparently the only one with a seatbelt (even suburbans have limits on # of seatbelts) ran and was caught hiding in the desert. I think that is the 3rd fatal accident just of illegal immigrant smugglers, just driving suburbans and JUST in Utah, this year.
Even smuggling aside, that isn’t a great driving record.
And yes, I’m being flip (the guy above irritated me – not my fault). However, anyone who knows ANYTHING about the different standards US to Mexico, not to mention the different security standards at our ports letting the containers in to begin with, knows what a problem this would be.

I have a spotless driving record-bring it on!
How is it that everything bad going on in the country is illegals fault? What’s next? They were responsible for 9/11 too?

Siervocal ~ Have you been on the 710 Fwy in Southern Calif?? It is the main freeway that goes to the Long Beach and LA harbors. It is a nightmare, at least 25 % of the trucks on that freeway should not be on the freeway. They are falling apart. There are countless accidents on that freeway.
The majority of the drivers are Hispanic and middle eastern. If we add more trucks the the mix here in LA it will affect traffic and our safety.
Also for the record I’m not against Big Rigs. I have a family member in the industry and the last company I worked for had their own fleet. The guys were great hard working guys. Three of them had over one million accident free miles.
I have major issues with Mexican trucks driving safely on our freeways and causing more congestion on our freeways.

you bet they will effect our insurance how could it not my sisters son was ran over by illegals and he has a mangled leg and she got stuck with the bill.

Well, I know of at least two nice guys who won’t be paying more for their insurance – Bob Clark and his son.
Bob Clark was the director of “Porky’s”, “Porky’s 2″ and “A Christmas Story”.
Hector Velazquez-Nava, an “undocumented resident dead-drunk driver” struck Clark’s sedan last week killing both the famous director and his 22 year old son.
Velazquez-Nava entered a plea of…”not guilty”.

There have already been trucks within this country – that do not meet even the lowest standard for a vehicle to be on the road because of NAFTA – in Texas.
Insurance rates are just part of the problem. The real life threatening reality of some of these poorly maintained trucks on our roads and the hazard they are to American citizens is sadly going to be something that many Americans are going to be having to experience – and it won’t be a positive one either.
