im going to be buying a car from a dealer this week end, does anyone know if the dealer will have some kind of insurance till i drive home or am i allowed to drive home without insurance because i just bought it? i will be getting insurance when i get home. answers from the united kingdom only please as it may be different in other countries

    It must be covered by insurance before you drive it. Some dealers have an arrangement with insurance companies that allow them to act as agents and sell insurance, a few have a different arrangement whereby they give you seven days free insurance when you buy a car, apart from that you will have to arrange your own insurance before you collect the car.

    autoinsurance.undonet.com – try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.
