I need to get the cheapest car insurance possible. The DMV suspended my registration until I show them I have insurance. I have no accidents and only 2 tickets on my record. I am unemployed right now, so money is an issue.

You don’t seem to have much choice–insurance or not driving. You may need an SR-22 filing, which “follows” your policy–if the policy gets canceled, so does the SR-22. What it will cost you depends on your record and why you were suspended. Call several agents/companies or use one of the web sites to find the best price.

See this http://123automotive-insurance.solutionsarticles.com/compare.php?id=ttn92 or http://autoinsurance.guidearticles.com/index.htm?id=s0r54 take the quote, they’ll come back with prices from different insurers in your area. It’s very quick and free of charge.
But to find a cheap price you should get several quotes, do some legwork till something better will come along.
A word of warning, there are scammers around, so beware.
If they are some “unknown-never-heard-of-carrier”
check them out with your State’s Insurance Department. They’ll have a list of all Licensed Insurers there. Also they’ll have a working Verisign logo on their site.
