If you shop around and compare quotes, you can save a good amount of money.
when i got my first policy i was just so anxious that I just used whatever my parents had.
The comparison sites are the easiest way to get quotes fast, and i wish I did this at first.

Good luck.

OK, here's the deal:

"Full coverage" isn't an insurance term. It means 10 different things to 10 different people.

You need to ask your agent. But, in general, all household members should be listed on your policy if they occasionally drive a car. If someone drives your car more than once a month, like a girlfriend or parent or something, they should ALSO be listed as a driver.

MOST policies - not all, mind you, but most - will cover anyone using your vehicle, who has a license, who IS NOT A HOUSEHOLD MEMBER, AND, doesn't have "regular access" to your car. Now, "regular access" is the questionable point. So if your neighbor drives you to the hospital, in MOST cases, you're covered (not them, mind you, but YOU) if there is an accident. But if your girlfriend takes your car to her work once a week or so, she's not. Because the vehicle is used regularly by her. Progressive defines 'regular use' as once a month, or more than 10 times a year.

If your insurance company says YOUR policy ONLY COVERS LISTED DRIVERS, then some stranger on the internet that hasn't seen your policy, who says otherwise, is talking out of their hat. Take the opinion of the person who's READ your policy, over that of someone who hasn't.

And sorry, OklaTom, I know you're good at insurance and all, but to say carte blanche "insurance follows the car, everyone is covered" is NOT TRUE. I've SEEN LOTS OF EXCEPTIONS FIRST HAND.
