You Can Save Money When Comparing Quotes Online For Car Insurance

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

While we all moan and groan about finding the right policy and the cost of motor insurance, if you want to drive legally on the roads in the UK then you have to take out car insurance, so you literally have no choice but to buy it! However, the good news is that it can be a quick and easy process and you can save money when comparing quotes online for car insurance.

Forgetting the legal implications, without a motor insurance policy to fall back on, you could stand to lose everything if your car was written-off in an accident. You would also have to pay out for repairs out of your own pocket and other things such as medical costs and legal assistance would not be paid for you. That is why comparing quotes online for car insurance is so important.

There are three main types of motor insurance; fully comprehensive (also known as ‘fully comp’); third party, fir and theft; and, third party only.

Fully comprehensive is the all-singing-all-dancing cover for cars, offering what it says in the tin -comprehensive cover. Because of the maximum amount of coverage offered, it will obviously cost the most. Fire, damage or a replacement car could be claimed for, so could the cost of repairs for your car and any third party’s. Fully comp would provide cover against a range of eventualities which will often include legal and medical costs.

Third party only on the other hand offers the most basic of cover and while it is a cheaper way to insure your motor, it offers you and your vehicle no protection whatsoever, only paying out for any damage you cause to another car or person.

Third party fire and theft (TPFT cover) gives some security for yourself and is in the middle, price wise. It will pay out for any damage you cause to a third party or their property as well as if your vehicle is stolen or is damaged by fire. As with third party cover only, any damage caused by you to your motor car will not be covered.

As with all purchases in life, the price of your car insurance premiums can vary and so do the small print, so always compare both online with the help of a specialist website who can gather you quotes together for comparison.

There are ways that you can pay less for your insurance, too:

• The more you pay for your excess the cheaper the premiums will be. The excess is the amount you pay before the policy company pays out;

• If your car is harder to steal then the cost of the policy can be kept down. You can do this easily by fitting a lock to the steering wheel of the car and selecting to keep it locked up overnight;

• If you just stay with the policy provider year after year you could well be paying over the odds for the premiums. Always compare policy when it becomes renewable.

Finally, when comparing online for car insurance, look to see how many extras are thrown with the cover as some will offer additional benefits for free to entice you buy their cover.

Car Insurance ? What if a UFO Trashed Your Car?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

After hearing the recent news story about the UFO that allegedly crashed into a wind turbine, the specialist car insurance broker Adrian Flux had an enquiry from one concerned customer asking whether or not he would be covered if a UFO crashed into his car. Due to this, the insurance company thought they would look into exactly what strange events drivers would be covered for should they occur. Here are just a few of the unusual events that could occur and could have an impact on your car insurance policy should you have a comprehensive policy; - Damage to your car caused by a meteor (surely this is the very least you would expect!?) - Monkeys doing damage to your car whilst you’re on a trip through a safari park. - A kangaroo on the loose from a zoo, jumping over your car and wrecking your roof on its way. - Crashing into a piano that has been carelessly left on a hairpin bend of an Alpine pass (obviously you are expected to have European cover for this one.) - A frozen block of urine falling from an aircraft and smashing into your car. - A mastermind criminal who is operating from a satellite whilst in geostationary orbit deciding to hold the city council to ransom by taking control of the traffic lights and causing gridlock in the streets, which in turn means that your car has been damaged in the chaos. - And of course, a UFO crashing into your car. However, with regards to the final point, it is important to be aware that if the UFO uses a weapon that damages your car, you would not be covered as this would be considered as an act of war and you are not covered for this. In turn, this would mean that if an intergalactic war took place and led to Armageddon and your car was affected, this would also not be covered. However, the insurance companies probably shouldn’t worry too much about the repercussions of this clause as people will probably have slightly more important things to worry about. If you are just looking for cheap car insurance whilst you ponder over what’s best to do to protect yourselves from these issues then the best thing to do is to search the internet for the best prices and policies.

An insurance company has looked into what strange events you would be covered for if you have comprehensive cover. They came up with quite a few weird and wonderful events that could have an impact on your car insurance policy. If you are looking for cheap car insurance , the best thing to do is to compare quotes on the internet in order to get the best one for your needs.

why am i not receiving news about my recovered stolen vehicle?

Monday, March 8th, 2010

my car was stolen sometime between tuesday evening and wednesday morning. i reported it to the police and my insurance company that morning. wednesday afternoon i received a message from my insurance company that my car had been recovered. to this point i have not received any further updates from either the police or the insurance company.

what could be causing the delay? is it normal for the police to not contact a person if their stolen property is recovered?

Why aren’t all residential roads in America paved? Do you live on a gravel road, isn’t that hard on your car?

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

I don’t understand why there are gravel roads, if all people pay taxes to upkeep the roads, why are some gravel?

Who is responsible for road conditions?..state, county, city?

I don’t think it’s right to keep roads gravel, because it causes way too many car and truck problems, nevermind the school busses that have to be other them everyday.

And what did I hear in the news recently about the “state?” will start picking up some of the vehicle insurance cost, etc for poor road conditions?? (I only caught a little of it on the radio, and have no clue what the details were.. do you?

Is there any one out there that works for a car insurance place that could give details about bad roads refunds? I run 2 buses a day, and they have to travel dirt / gravel roads, and it’s tearing them up !
Figures.. I get two respected advisors to answer.. dang it.. I don’t have a clear path to take on deciding between.. and I don’t wanna, so.. a vote it shall be.. both answers are great!!
