i’m looking into getting a new car and the cost of insurance on them will help determine which i get or if i keep my current car. i’ve tried to get quotes online but they usually want my license number or want to call me and tell me the quotes. i just want to know approximately how much it will be for these cars.

They need your license number to check your driver history. They ask for the vin cause it tells them exactly what kind of car it is. You can’t get an approximate quote.

For car insurance the quickest way to get a cheap quote is do a auto policy comparison. Be sure to choose the same coverage levels, you can get an fast quote to compare against others. Use the same city/state, car make/model, mileage and driving history to ensure you get an apples to apples comparison. To get mulitple auto quotes, go to http://www.simpleautoquotes.com/Auto-Insurance.html and you can compare the major auto insurance companies.

You have to give them your liscense number theres no way getting around it. now the vin # you dont have to have that ..The insurance Co will need to know what your driving history is in order to determine your rate. best bet is the newest car will be the cheapest due to it having better saftey features. You said you want full cov… so you need to find out what deductibles you need. If you get 500/500 comp coll your insurance will be cheaper rather than if you get 100/100 or 250/250 you can switch it up whatever way fits your budget .Hope this helps but you will not be able to get a quote without giving them your drivers lisc nbr =)

I’ve found some helpful info here too:
