I’m new to texas so borrowing a car from someone is a no…..im trying to get my license for the first time but when applying for auto insurance they require a license…what can i do?
people i realize i need auto insurance before applying for the license…im asking how can i get insurance when it requires a license? and how do i get a license when i need car insurance?

well, you need to have your license BEFORE you get your insurance. Thats how it works.
EDIT: NO!, you need your licence FIRST!

Strange insurance company. They will take money without a license. You want to pay them, they will take the money.
Why did you not pursue that line of questioning to get some logic out of them? My car was my car, insured and everything before I got my license.(I owned 3 cars in my name-they were my property even if I could not drive them as I was 15).
For the test, I insured one and had it driven down for me (by someone with a license) for the examinor to step in to. The examinor will not step into a vehicle that was not insured.

Have a friend who owns an insured automobile drive you to the test site, with his permission to use his car for the test. It is not a requirement to own a car in order to get a drivers licence.

I used to work for a tag agency in Oklahoma. I made many many licenses and never once had to have car insurance. You should take a Birth Certificate and a social security card to get your license. Once you have the license you can get car insurance. I just pray that you are not driving around without insurance and a license.

Sorry, for you to be insured to drive any vehicle, you have to be licensed. You may not like the answer but it is the only one.
Even if one gets their license suspended their insurance gets canceled. So, if you are not licensed and get into an accident you could not expect your insurance company to pay yours and others hospital bills when you don’t have a license to drive.

That your first mistake / assumption. NO you do NOT need insurance to get a license.
Contact a local driving school and you can take lesson and test WITH them.

Everyone is ignoring your real question. To take the test, the CAR you are using to test in must be insured. So make sure you have the insurance card for that car, whether you are borrowing mom’s to test in, or if it’s the one you took drivers ed in.
Once you have your license, then your parents add you to their insurance, and you’re covered. At a much cheaper rate than you can find on your own I might add.
