I own this fully paid off car. My insurance expired on the 4th the tags are up to date. I have someone coming to look at it tomorrow. How do I sign over my car to him? Just sign the bottom? Do I need more paper work from the DMV? I am planning on signing over the title in the bank when the guy hands me my money so I can make sure its real (I am only excepting cash).

ok well you and the car buyer has to sign the title but make sure you right a letter for example….i bill sell this vehicle a 2001 honda accord with 120 thousand miles on it for the price of 6 thousand and zerocents to mr johnson AS IS no warranty….you since date it go and get a copy one for you and one for the buyer good luck again you do not have to do the letter but if the driver goes and drives the car while it is still under your name u might get into trouble but if u have the letter for proff that you had sold the vehicle you will be ok.

Well first of all, on the back of the title is where you will I believe he signs I think..
And to sale your car did you put in the local papers? Make a poster to put around time, saves the cost of alot of ads for the car itself.
You can sale it on Ebay, I know I’ve seen cars there..
Thats a good idea that they give you cash for the car, and while your at the bank you could have them explain to you how to do the title..
best of luck and congrats hope he buys the car!

You are smart to accept only cash. The bank will also have a Notary Public to sign the title. Remember to mail in the registration after the sale or, in some states, you can do this online. That way there is no confusion who owns the car if there is an accident tomorrow..
