I’ve Heard that Insurance companys will not even look at your driving history unless you change your policy or if you’re already labeled a high risk driver. Also since it was only a 2 point ticket I’ve heard that it will not raise your rate unless you get another 2 point ticket within a short period of time. Can anyone verify this info?
So far, the answers I’ve received seem to have not really been researched and are nothing more than assumptions which I am very capable of. Please only answer this question if you definitely have the answer.
Thank you for your help and kindest regards.

If you go to traffic school the ticket will not show up on your driving record and your rates won’t go up. You can do on-line traffic school or go to one. They have all sorts of them that are educational, fun or both.

Geico has a forgiveness policy, they forgive one ticket or accident for lifetime or X amount of years. The best thing to do is go take the driving class and get the point removed. In arizona you can do 2 points/ one class every 3 years.

9 chances out of 10 your insurance rate will not go up, a lot of insurance plans have it to where you have certain circumstances of the rate flexs. The best thing to do is to speak with your insurance agent. That’s what I do..lol

If you go to a lawyer and get the ticket fixed they will never find out about it.

First, if you want researched answers, try researching them yourself. Second, who gave you the ticket? Was it in a nice area? the ghetto? Try fighting it. Sometimes the officer/deputy wont show up to court, if he/she doesnt, then they throw it out. And the insurance company thing is all specific to the company, they all have different policies.
Lastly, try driving the speed limit. A 25 zone usually means you were in front of a school. Think of the kids.

The best thing to do is contact your insurance broker. They should have the info you need.

Insurance company will take a look at your record at your renewal. That’s every six month depending on the company, some look at it every year. You haven’t had a ticket in 5 years, you can always take a driving class that will allow you to drop the ticket. Most company also have a 1 ticket forgiven policy… contact your agent for the best answer……. I work for Allstate Insurance Company.. You can call 1.800.255.1828 for more infor….. Even if you’re not with them u might get lucky and get a rep who will help you………

You should tell your Insurance Company / Broker about your speeding ticket along with the date of the conviction and the points/fine that you were awarded.
It will not affect the Insurance cover, although some Insurers might increase the Policy a little.
Whilst Insurers will only load your Policy whilst the points are on your licence, you may well have to declare them for 5-7 years.
This advice is for the UK. Other countries may treat things differently. The fact you have said “two point ticket” and mentioned a 25 miles per hour limit leads me to believe the query is American in nature.
That said, an Insurance contract is based on “utmost good faith”. If you lie to them, they could nullify your Policy.

I work for Farmers Insurance. Truthfully, No your premium will not raise with your current carrier at all. You could have 3 tickets within the next 2 months and they will not know, UNLESS YOU HAVE AN ACCIDENT. At that time they will run a MVR (a motor vehicle report) At this time, they will reasess your driving record and credit score hence the policy premium raising due to the fact that your a risk.
I have had clients that have had 4 tickets within the household since I wrote them 2 years ago. Yet, their first accident the whole truth came out.
Hope I could help. Chris
If you were to switch companies right now, they will see those tickets because they run an new MVR.

The best thing to do is to go to traffic school. Now your insurance wont go up unless you get another traffic ticket in a short period of time. The insurance company will find out if you tell them, or you are renewing your policy. I’m speaking from experience. It just happened to my wife.

That’s because you added a question mark at the end of your statement, but failed to ask a question.
