I bought insurance yesterday over the phone but when driving my car today I got pulled over and told no insurance was on file for me. I phoned my insurance company to find they had no record of my call. Now I am left with 6 points on my license (revoking it) and a £200 fine. What should I do?

My case is in the UK by the way….

Not entirely sure how it works over there, but usuallly over here I have the insurance company email me the bar code minutes after purchasing it so I can print it out for my car.
