We are traveling to Spain this summer and neither the rental car agencies (Avis or Hertz), our stateside insurance provider (State Farm), or our credit card company (American Express) offer liability coverage in a foreign country. I would much appreciate any advice or experience anyone may have with this.

i am going to mexico for 6 months and i taking my vehicle with me. its a 2002 and i still have a loan on it. while out of the country i have to purchase additional mexican insurance. so can i put my U.S insurance on hold or do i have to pay 2 premiums even though U.S insurance doesnt cover in Mexico.
