I am studying out of state and am going back home to California for a month and I need insurance to drive for one month…
What do I do? is there any insurance that I can get for one month?
I currently do not drive while in school so i don’t have insurance…
My friend and I are planning a road trip for July and August of next year and we’re trying to work out the finances early on. We want to travel through around 44 states (yep it’s a big trip!) and we want to do it on as tight a budget as possible. It looks like it’s cheaper to use an RV or a camper and it’s cheaper to buy and re-sell than it is to rent. Actually it’s cheaper to buy and just abandon that to rent! This is a rough estimate of what we have so far…
Motorhome: $2,000 – obv used class C
Camp-sites: $1,220 – on the basis that the average site costs $20 a night
Gas: $867 – around $15 a day
Groceries: $650 – we’ll eat out most days
Insurance: $303 for both of us
This obviously isn’t factoring in spending money or flights but if anyone has any advice or comments about our ‘money plan’ please let me know. Thanks!
Basically, I’m wondering if I should wait until I’m 25 to buy a car, since then the insurance would be cheaper when I have to insure the car. Or does it really matter?
