I need to use a car but I am not sure if I need it for more than 2 months and I absolutely don’t wanna have a car unless it were strictly necessary. I don’t know if insurance companies will accept to ensure this car (which is gonna be borrow) for a very short term.
Back in August, a woman in a store parking lot that worked there backed into my car. She caused almost $2,000 worth of damage. I called her insurance company several times and they said they were doing a further investigation. She wasn’t on the insurance holder’s policy although there was insurance on the car. I lost most of my information on the accident.
-Can I still be reimbursed for the damages or is it too late?
-What should I do next?
I was arrested for DUI in July 2006. I managed to take out a chain linked fence that apparently costs around $6000 to replace. I have to have this paid pretty soon. They marked that I had no insurance but I did indeed have liability with Geico at the time of the accident.
I’ve not been able to find any statue of limitation on reporting an accident. I have the original police report as well as the estimate on the fence from the Street Department. Will they likely pay my claim 20 months later?
I didn’t report it because it was still ongoing in court. The fence has not been fixed and is still in the shape it was in when I ran into it.
I just filed the claim with Geico. The woman stated that she would immediately contact the Street Department and let them know they are going to cover the fence.
I am optimistic. Thanks guys!
