beg borrow or steal. The last option is usually your worst.

Get a second or third job. Park the car for a week. Sell your Christmas presents on Ebay. Give up the party on New Year’s Eve, and babysit kids.

That is your problem. If you choose to carry a higher deductible, you need to be prepared for it.

Lesson learned:
Higher deductibles are to save you money on insurance premiums. You could have saved the difference in a bank account, JUST IN CASE you might have to pay the deductible. As long as you don’t have an accident, you’re saving money. If you do have an accident, you have some funds there to help you pay the deductible.
Or, you could have paid just a little more in insurance premiums, got a smaller deductible, and not have had to worry about having to pay such a large amount to have your car repaired.
Here’s what you can legally do. (If the insurance company makes the check out to you). You can get a couple of estimates, turn them into the claims dept., and receive your claim check, minus the $1000. Then go to another repair shop and see if they can help you by giving you a lower estimate. It might save you a couple hundred dollars.

Have your insurance company write you a check for your damages minus your deductible. Then maybe you can shop it around for less.
Next time pay more and take a smaller deductible.
