State:

By car insurance | 7 Comments

I am nineteen years old, and I just got my license in July. My dad just gave me a car, it’s used and is six years old. It has over 100,000 miles on it. I need insurance for it, but I don’t know what I should have as a minimum. I don’t want to pay more than 100 a month. I just need some ADVICE!

Your insurance will be expensive due to your age. The minimum is what the state law requires, which is $100,000 to $300,000 liability. The insurance company will only offer a policy based on the minimum state requirements.

The best advice; ask your dad who he uses for insurance and call his agent up. They should be able to get you a good discount. If the price seems high, call other insurance companies up. Quotes are free.
