You can’t get cheap insurance since you are 17. Shop around for the least expensive insurance. It won’t be cheap.

anything under £1500 would be cheap for your age and car

As above, you will definitely not get cheap insurance on any car, especially if you are a man. I wouldn’t expect to see much change from £1000 on any car. That said, there are a few sites you might want to try i.e.
    http://www.endsleigh.co.uk/young-driver-insurance.html
They specialise in student car insurance & provide student discounts too.
You may also want to try googling it like I have:
    http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=young+driver+car+insurance&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

The above link provides loads of sites for you to try!

    Hi Brittany,

I would check out the source I listed below. It’s hard to find affordable car insurance when you are a new driver but they have good rates especially for young people. How much it will actually be depends on a lot of things though so contact them to get a personal quote.

It’s also a good idea to take your defensive driving course if that is possible for you. It’s a 5-hour 1 time course that generally saves you 10% on your insurance. It helped me when I had my first car.

    Good luck! :)

    I agree with April.

If you are a student you get 20% off your insurance.

Insurance is very individual because it’s based on your drivers record, sex, age, and a number of other variables such as location, credit rating and type of vehicle being insured.
