When has the government forced people to drive or buy cars?
The best way to avoid car insurance is by not owning a car, but with Obamacare if I refuse his “wonderful” medical care I get fined.
I don’t understand liberals, first they complain about the big bad pharmaceutical companies, but now they are cheering a law that forces people to buy insurance from those same companies.
What if the companies can’t afford to give everyones insurance? will Obama bail the out with borrowed money…again?
I said pharmaceuticals?
damn, I meant the insurance companies, my bad.

The health care bill doesn’t “force” one to buy health insurance… They TAX those who choose NOT to. It is NOT a FINE.

No one buys insurance from pharmaceutical companies. What are you talking about? It is purchased from insurance companies.
We wanted it to be provided by the government, non profit. The cons forced us to make sure that big business makes a sound profit. Good job, now it is going to be more expensive.

1. Nobody buys insurance from pharmaceutical companies.
2. Private insurers made billions in profits. They can afford to cover everyone.
3. If you show up at an ER without insurance, taxpayers like me have to pay for it.
4. Single payer would be $3000 cheaper per capita, but Repukes are against it.
Suck it up, loser.

It’s called mind conditioning, but evidently it’s not working for the likes of you, since your saw through it…with such disgusting clearness.

Nobody understands the ways of the so-called liberal, even they don’t understand. They are mindless sheep marching to the beat of the big government drum. Their illogical ideology has all but taken over a once free land, we’re screwed if we don’t stand up and fight.

casue they HAVE no clue what is in the constitution/.

Ms Stevie ll the prequel- Hello?!!? When the government wants you to do something by imposing a fine, it is forcing. Have you been drinking?
Liberals seem to think they know better than you. They are only trying to help you, don’t you know that?

It’s more a problem of inability to deal with the real world. That’s what a College education can do to you when most of your teachers are failed 60′s radicals and their apprentices. It’s kind of like a Sith Lord and their apprentice, except they aren’t quite so…useful.
Sad, I think Stalin and Lenin had the right idea in sending all the Socialist Intellectuals to Siberia. Keeps them where they belong.
Most are so stupid they don’t realize that Democans never intended to pass the Single Payer option…The money from insurance lobbyists would have been cut back.

Health insurance shouldn’t be compared to car insurance. Some people live all their lives without driving. My Mother-in-law did. Some people live all their lives without getting seriously ill. They just die in their sleep one night. Some people live all their lives without getting injured by anything, too.
A much better analogy would be to compare the right to medical care to the right to an attorney if you cannot afford one (your Miranda rights). You can live your whole life without getting arrested for something, but that doesn’t let you off the hook for local property taxes that support your state’s legal system. Even renters pay through their landlord’s property taxes. But, if you get arrested for something serious, you have the right to an attorney and if you cannot afford one, one will be appointed without charge to defend you. Whether you are convicted or acquitted, you will never be billed for the services of your attorney, nor will your attorney attach a lien to your home in lieu of billing you for his/her services. Public defenders can’t do that. It’s against the law. Now if you CAN afford a private attorney, good for you! Take out a loan to pay him/her, or whip out your credit card instead! That fact doesn’t negate the right of the homeless man next to you in court, who has the right to a fair trial and the right to an attorney to defend him.

The only thing similar about the two is the word insurance.

The goal of the Obama care is to bankrupt the private health care and usher in the single payer government funded health care. The goal of the single payer government funded health care is to get rid of seniors with health problems, and population control with increased abortions. Basically the social security administration is going bankrupt because all the baby boomers are starting to draw from the system, and with all this unemployment there is a lack of people paying into it. My advice to everyone… you better eat right, don’t smoke, don’t drink too much, and get plenty of exercise. If not, you might might be rejected for health care, and given an option for euthanasia. As for borrowing money… were living on borrowed time until the dollar will collapse. All I have to say… put 10% of all your money into gold.

…because most states have laws requiring you to have proof of insurance in order to register your car? And thus, in effect require you to get insurance if you want to drive?
Or it could be because fundamentally, all forms of insurance are the same thing. You are basically betting that something will inevitably go wrong with your car/health/house/etc… and that the cost of that event will be greater than your contribution to the larger insurance pool.
And, for the record, small businesses will receive tax credits to offset the cost of health insurance for their employees. Large companies are able to afford this and already pay reduced tax rates relative to their profits.
